The Amazing Devon Berry of TCU is Excited To Serve As the Keynote speaker at the Inaugural Code True Spring Break Spit’in Anger Youth Summit in Fort Worth, Texas on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Bethlehem Community Center. Summit Highlights:

Spit’in Anger is the exploration into the uncharted space of fatherlessness. Through the story of one of America’s premier leaders in the responsible fatherhood movement–Kenneth Braswell–we learn that the filmmaker and healer is about to receive a lesson in healing himself. Experts Dr. Jeff Gardere, Iyanla Vanzant. Judge Mablean Ephriam and Terrie Williams lay the foundation for one of the most devastating social ills for black children in America; father absence. Today; 82.3% of African American children born since 1990, will live in a home without their biological fathers before their 18th birthday.

Guest Keynote Speaker: Mr. Devon Berry
Devon Berry a football player Devon Berry, a student at TCU was born with cerebral palsy, yet on Friday nights in high school, Devon left his walker on the sideline, crawled onto the football field and played the game he loves. ESPN’s Lisa Salters shared the remarkable journey of Devon Berry and students will be given an opportunity to hear an amazing motivational speaker.

Summit Facilitator: Rev. Kyev P. Tatum, Sr.,
Born and reared in abject poverty without his father, Kyev Tatum knows first-hand that “it takes a village to raise a child.” By focusing on advocacy, academy, and access to the economy, Tatum has built a reputation of “getting things done” at every level of public affairs and civic engagement. As President of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in Fort Worth, Kyev has promoted the causes of civil rights, human rights and economic development in traditionally disadvantaged and underserved communities for over 25 years. A native of Fort Worth, Rev. Tatum is a proud graduate of Green B. Trimble Tech High School in Fort Worth, Texas and the College of Public Affairs and Community Service at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.
