One Fort Worth Thanksgiving Celebration!

Tis The Season To Be Thankful featuring Members of the Retired NBA Players Association on November 20, 2017 at 3000 Las Vegas Trail starting at 10:30am

Mr. Willie Davis and Members of the National Basketball Retired Players Association are providing a $1000 challenge grant towards 100 Thanksgiving Baskets to help galvanize community support for the families living on the impoverished Las Vegas Trail.

The Fort Worth Association of Midnight Basketball League and Real Dads Read Community Challenge is currently looking for comnunity partners and supporters to help raise the $1000 match for the grant.

Any gift, large or small is greatly appreciated.

We would love to you and your organization as one of the Community sponsors.

FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Mr. Willie Davis and Members The Dallas Chapter of the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) are teaming up with It Takes A Village, Inc., the Fort Worth Association of Midnight Basketball, Build A Better Hood Program, the Young Gentle Warriors and a host of others to help share in the holiday spirit with some of the families living off Las Vegas Trail during Thanksgiving season.

“We selected Fort Worth because we believe Mayor Price and other city leaders are serious about bridging the gap in the communiy and we want to be a part of cities that are making a difference in the lives of everyone, especially for our most vulnerable children and families living off Las Vegas Trail,” says Willie Davis, President of the Dallas Chapter of the NBRPA and co-founder of Slam Dunk Mentors, a youth leadership program.

Organizers are currently looking for volunteers and matching funds to make this event a special.

“We are honored to have been selected by the Dallas Chapter of the NBRPA as the recipient of this $1000matching grant to help purchase and share thanksgiving baskets to families in need of food during the holiday season,” says Rev. K.P. Tatum, Commissioner for the Fort Worth Association of Midnight Basketball League.

“We selected Tis The Season To Be Thankful because we recognize that in spite our current conditions that we still have so much to be thankful,” says Rev. Tatum

This is the first year the City of Fort Worth has been selected to receive this note worthy service opportunity.
